I started writing my newsletter because I so enjoy the ones I receive from others in the sewing and crafting world, and because it's an opportunity for me to talk to all of you each month even when my blog might be a little lacking in big fancy finishes (this mom thing really devours my free time! ; ) Before I started, I wasn't quite sure how to begin or what to say, and for months I mulled over making the leap. Then I saw Abby Glassenberg (of While She Naps) was teaching an Email Marketing Jumpstart course that paired perfectly with Mailchimp which I'd been using for blog updates, and I immediately jumped. You might know Abby from her podcast (she interviews creatives and industry leaders, and recorded live from QuiltCon 2017) or another of her myriad hats - author, editor, pattern designer, Craft Industry Alliance co-founder - but I originally stumbled upon her through her really helpful posts about blogging and business. Signing up for her class was an easy choice since I love all the tips she's shared over the years. She's always clear, concise, and knowledgeable, and this class was no exception. I went from watching the first lesson to hitting send on my first newsletter in four days - Abby made it that simple! Check out Abby's class to see if it could work for you! So if you like what you're receiving from me, I'd love to hear from you! Hit "reply" anytime to respond to my newsletter with your questions or feedback. And if you're running a business (doesn't have to be sewing!) or even just want to send the best family/school reunion updates ever, a newsletter format is definitely worth exploring. P.S. BBD newsletter subscribers receive an email from me the first week of each month full of links to tutorials, patterns & timely topics in the quilt community, plus recent happenings at BBD, including finishes, freebies & my latest giveaway.
