I've had this Wee Gallery Dress Me! fabric squirreled away along with these adorable kids' coloring books that coordinate, thinking they'd make for some fun play mats and a little travel book & clothing set to chase away boredom in a waiting room or restaurant. So when my kids complained "there's nothing to do!" the other day (school starts here in ONE week! ; ) it reminded me that this might be just the thing for an August giveaway: a "kids entertainment" set, including two yards of fabric (one yard of each Wee Gallery print pictured), plus two Wee Gallery dress up books! ***GIVEAWAY CLOSED*** ***CONGRATULATIONS, DELIA JONES!*** TO ENTER: 1. Leave a comment below telling me what your favorite take along activity is for kids. I have an antsy two year old who will be sitting through a lot of piano and dance lessons this fall and I could use some fresh ideas! 2. For an extra entry, subscribe to my monthly newsletter and let me know in a separate comment. Giveaway closes at 12 AM EST on Sunday, August 13, 2017. Winner will be chosen at random, and announced here and via email. Winner will receive one yard each of two different of Wee Gallery fabrics and two Wee Gallery dress up books, as pictured. Thanks for stopping by & good luck!

I don't have kids, but my guild Oil Valley Quilters Guild has a quilting Tea each spring, we teach kids to use a sewing machine. There is a Make and Take each year. I am thinking this would make a great door prize!

Is that the cutest fabric or what? My kids were never the most patient "waiters", but my son would always play with a box or drawstring bag or Legos...they were quiet and inspired creativity. My daughter loved coloring books or a blank pad of paper to draw on. Fresh crayons or glittery pens never hurt! Gotta keep those kids busy!

A book. My children learned to get lost into books quite early. Funny what little minds see in the illustrations.

I keep activity books, pads & colored pencils (because they won't melt) in the car at al times. That usually keeps my girls occupied.

My nephew is 17, so wifi is needed. LOL. And a charging cord in the car because he never brings on.

I had a little traveling art "kit" I used with my kids. Small pieces of paper, canyons and colored pencils, pipe cleaners and pom poms, some origami paper, stickers etc. If I had young kids again I would make another version of an art kit. All quiet but fun things. 8/12/2017 11:05:48
I made my little granddaughter a quilted tote and we take it with us whenever we go out. Its filled with coloring books, wash off markers and other little toys. She loves it, and it keeps her busy. She thinks its new & different, because we only let her use it when we go out.

I have a two year old grandbaby that i have A LOT. I let her pick three things to take with us in the car each time we go somewhere. Plus we have a doll that has a lot of activities on her. Her hair does silly things, her clothes can be reversed, her shoes snap, she sucks her thumb, etc. She loves listening to music and i have have appropriate music for her in the car and she siiiiings her little heart out. And as long as she has juice or water, we're good.

For a 2 year old? I made a "felt worm" take a ribbon and tie a button on each end, take a few dozen felt squares and cut a slit in the middle and then just have the little one slide the felt onto the ribbon. Does that make sense?

Some things that have helped us over the years are Playmobil 123 sets to take along, Lauri toddler activity packs, Wikki Stix (with supervision at her age), magnet dress up sets, etc. It helps keeping those items for only outings, lessons, etc.

I used to bring along those sticker books that you can find at bookstores. My kids loved those plus you can't go wrong with crayons and paper. Comments are closed.
