See this? *gulp* It arrived a few weeks ago, but I've been kind of afraid to share about it. This is the result of, "Gee, I think I need just a few Kona solids to better work the 2014 Pantone Quilt Challenge. I'll only order a few quarter yards for the mini quilt I've designed." (Did you catch that - for a mini! Not a full top, not a completed quilt - I went way WAY overboard!) Yup. So this happened. It's shameful! Don't get me wrong, I love every single piece to death, but you can see that I clearly got a little carried away with purples, and then while I was in over my head, I added a few other things as well. (And I know Molli Sparkles - who's away and has left guest hosting to Mila+Cuatro this week - likes us to list what everything is, but I can't sacrifice the next two hours to typing them all out and looking up links. If there's a specific print you're wondering about, though, leave me a comment and I'll let you know what it is! And in the meantime, you can of course find them all over at Pink Chalk Fabrics : ) Here are some more detailed shots... ![]() I'm happy to announce that Angela Bullard of Sewing with Squeak is the winner of my Valentine's Day blogoversary giveaway! I asked readers what they were doing to celebrate, and it sounds like her planned sushi date night ended up unexpectedly postponed, so I hope her $25 gift certificate to Westwood Acres Fabric is a nice consolation prize. Enjoy! Ok, ok, and my one last reminder ; ) Next Saturday I'll be kicking off the 30/30 Sewing Challenge here at BBD. A chance for you to sew 30 minutes a day for 30 days just for you! I gave more details here & you can find all the dates and grab the button right here. Join the goals link up on March 1st with a quick post about the project(s) you've chosen for the challenge - anything related to sewing, it's up to you! We'll share our progress weekly, and there will be a chance to win prizes when the challenge wraps up. Looking forward to a month of "selfish sewing" with you!

love, love, LOVE the purples <3. I adore bunny on the vespa with the balloons! 2/23/2014 01:21:37
That happened to me last time I ordered fabric. i totally understand! LOVE the purples! 2/23/2014 06:20:22
This has been happening more than I care to admit, Samantha... I am *almost* on the brink of putting my credit cards on ice... almost - I might have a few more things to get first ; ) 2/23/2014 07:55:27
30 mins a day for 30 days? Just for me? I'm intrigued, sometimes it takes me 30 mins to decide what to do and then I'm out of time! Looking forward to seeing your Pantone challenge quilt - mine is my primary WIP at the moment, I'm not giving any sneak peaks but I'm so excited about it. Thanks for linking up! 2/23/2014 08:02:53
Darn you commented before I amended my post with your link! Thanks for hosting this week : ) And yes, that happens to me - hence lots of weeks of hyping the challenge so everyone has had time to pick a few projects to be ready to roll. My fabrics are all piled up itching to be cut! 2/23/2014 10:50:57
Thank you, Adrienne! It's making me want to overhaul my Radiant Orchid submission, but I don't think I have enough hours in the day to go big at this point : P 2/23/2014 09:57:34
I love all the purples….love alison glass, true color prints. I might have to join you in the 30 of 30. 2/23/2014 10:49:25
Thanks! This Radiant Orchid Pantone year is just a ridiculously easy excuse to buy my favorite color : ) And I'd love to have you join me for the 30/30! I'm hoping it's a good fit for everyone before the weather warms up and long before holiday sewing takes over. 2/23/2014 11:22:48
Congratulations Angela! What a wonderful pile of stash additions you are so reluctant to admit to! Those "you know - all of it" pieces are certainly irresistible! Looking forward to linking up on the 1st! 2/23/2014 12:28:43
Thanks, Lorna - can't wait to see what you're up to for you next month! I'm thinking I may have to go big now that I've sunk in so deep on the purple (your favorite color, I know ; ) hehe. 2/23/2014 13:01:57
GREAT fabrics. I'm excited to see what you make with them! I bought less purples than you did, but I pretty much did the same thing with purples this month... 3 shot cottons and 5 (I think) FQs of various prints (and I'm only going to use 2 of the shot cottons for my mini). Haha.. oh well, I never have much purple in my stash, so it'll fill a hole! 2/23/2014 23:21:11
I'm sure we'll put them all to good use, Kristel! I think my commitment to a mini has just blossomed to a queen top for my bedroom, so not a bad side effect of over-shopping ; ) 2/23/2014 14:20:03
Oh my!!! I just love all of those fabrics so much! I wasn't crazy about the Pantone color of the year (like, AT ALL), but after seeing this post, I am definitely loving it! 2/23/2014 23:17:30
Christine, I hear you! I *love* purple, but was uber less than impressed with the Pantone color - too pink, too bright, too hard to match? Then I started shopping things that were similar, or just a splash, or eh - close enough... and look what happened! Now I have a lot of things I love from something that didn't thrill me : P Comments are closed.
