This month my Stash Bee hive queen is Sheila from Mindful Quilter. She requested simple black and white blocks that would showcase our fabric choices, and I hope she thinks I managed the task - I love these pairings : ) Isn't it interesting how much you can vary something as simple as black and white? I like how my two blocks have such a different feel and intensity from one another. And now they're off across the pond - I hope Sheila loves them! Linking up with Let's Bee Social.

Very fun blocks. I saw you post them on Facebook, and I keep wondering how the white hexagon fabric would look paired with the black dots. I think it would be a neat optical illusion! :) Thanks, Yvonne! I tired a lot of different combos before settling on these. What probably isn't clear in these pics is that the chicken wire is a very clean cool white, as is the Scratch fabric, but the two fabrics in the bottom block are a warm slightly off-white. So the dots didn't match the hexies color wise to pair, but I bet they'd be busy if they did and I had : P 5/21/2014 15:48:07
Those look like fun blocks to make. I love the b&w pairings. What a great quilt this is going to be. Sheila's going to love these!
