Happy 2016! I hope the year is off to a fun, fresh start for you. I'm rolling into it with my trusty new planner by my side.... Have you picked up a copy of The Quilter's Planner from Late Night Quilter yet? It's really quite handy - part planner, part sketchbook, part pattern reference. In addition to filling it up with adorable stickers to keep me motivated (see those cute sewing machine stickers from PBnJPaperie? must haves for sewists and quilters alike!), I've also decked it out with a custom cover to help keep pens, business cards, and other necessities at my fingertips. I used the free Zippy Quilter's Planner Cover pattern as my starting point, but I modified it a bit... I added an invisible zipper to hide the front pocket because I just couldn't bear to break up one of my most treasured prints, and I opted for adding clear plastic pockets on each inside flap to keep track of what's tucked inside, along with a divided business card holder so I can stock my BBD cards alongside my "mommy cards" (when you move as often as I do, you go through a LOT of mommy cards meeting new friends and kids' playmates). Once I was done, I also topstitched around the entire outside edge to give the cover a nice snug, tailored fit. I just love how it turned out! End result: a very organized start to my year. If you're looking for the same, I encourage you to check out this great planning tool for quilters! What are you doing to start your year fresh? New tools? New goals?

Your planner cover looks great! I am going to be using the planner and I just bought a new "OCD" book to stick in my purse. I jot down my daily notes and daily walking miles toward my fitness goal for the year in it. I hope you have a wonderful 2016!

That's a great print for the cover. I like the modifications you made. I keep seeing variations, and I can't make up my mind on how to make mine. Thanks for the tip on the stickers.

Happy New Year, Sarah! Your planner cover is lovely... I'm still waiting on my Quilter's Planner to arrive, not very patiently I might add. As for 2016, I've declared it The Year of The Stash. And I started an on-line swap and joined the Mighty Lucky Quilt Club. Here's to a great year of sewing. It's lovely to see you back on the blog!

Great! I'm taking it slow. I'm applying 20 minutes of sewing/cleaning and others into my daily routine. Let's hope it'll last :) Happy New Year!

Love your cover! I wasn't going to make a cover, but I keep seeing adorable ideas... so I downloaded the tutorial. I think I might go with some rainbow fabric that I LOVE. So many options! No idea when I'll get to this, though. I'll pick out some fabric and throw it on my Q1 WIP list. ;-)
