I haven't entered a fabric challenge before, but when I heard about the Michael Miller Our Yard Fabric Challenge, my curiosity was piqued. I'm heading to QuiltCon 2018 (my first time attending! so excited!) and I thought it would be fun to have something in the show, so maybe I'll get a chance with my entry.
At first glance, the collection by Sarah Campbell looked a bit muted and... hmm, I'm not sure how to describe it... chalkboard-esque in tone/texture? Initially I wasn't sure what I would create, but then it dawned on me that a few of the prints could be perfect for a design I'd doodled in my Quilter's Planner months ago. Now that the fabric has arrived, I'm excited to see that the line is actually quite bright, and that one of the prints I'm considering is in the bundle so I can see a little first hand before ordering more to complete my design. Now I'm excited to clear out some work and carve out time for the challenge sewing!
If you're doing the challenge, too, let me know in the comments!
P.S. Did I say something about how handy my Quilter's Planner is for quilt sketching?? Do you love it, as well? Be on the look out for this fall's Tuesday Treats Giveaway with your chance to win the 2018 edition!
P.P.S. It's newsletter day! A fresh edition will be in inboxes mid-morning, and you can find previous editions in the archive.
