I haven't entered a fabric challenge before, but when I heard about the Michael Miller Our Yard Fabric Challenge, my curiosity was piqued. I'm heading to QuiltCon 2018 (my first time attending! so excited!) and I thought it would be fun to have something in the show, so maybe I'll get a chance with my entry. At first glance, the collection by Sarah Campbell looked a bit muted and... hmm, I'm not sure how to describe it... chalkboard-esque in tone/texture? Initially I wasn't sure what I would create, but then it dawned on me that a few of the prints could be perfect for a design I'd doodled in my Quilter's Planner months ago. Now that the fabric has arrived, I'm excited to see that the line is actually quite bright, and that one of the prints I'm considering is in the bundle so I can see a little first hand before ordering more to complete my design. Now I'm excited to clear out some work and carve out time for the challenge sewing! If you're doing the challenge, too, let me know in the comments! P.S. Did I say something about how handy my Quilter's Planner is for quilt sketching?? Do you love it, as well? Be on the look out for this fall's Tuesday Treats Giveaway with your chance to win the 2018 edition!
P.P.S. It's newsletter day! A fresh edition will be in inboxes mid-morning, and you can find previous editions in the archive. 8/10/2017 11:31:13
Oh wow, the fabrics are much more vibrant in person than they seemed in the graphic that was sent out. I look forward to seeing what you create!

Looking forward to seeing what you create. We haven't received our challenge fabric yet. They are harder for us to do because we can't buy yardage unless we order from the USA. Comments are closed.
