I did it. I cut the Kona! I've debated for years while watching so many others take the plunge, but never wanted to break up the binder of color cards I have, since some lines aren't as easily cut-up-able. Then last week while trying - in vain - to decide on the perfect progression of blues for an upcoming project, I gave in. So I ordered a new (303 set) Kona card to have on hand, and I started snipping up my old (270) card. Midway through snipping, I realized I needed a good way to store the chips to avoid chaos at the start of each use. Fortunately, I remembered that Silvia of A Stranger View had posted about this not too long ago, and after a quick skim of her photo feed, I found the answer: a Lego Minifigures Organizer by BoxBox. It has lots of slots for grouping colors, and it's thin (less than an inch in height) and light weight for storing. I'm going to slip it on the shelf right between my binders of thread and fabric colors : ) Have you cut up your color cards? Have a great storage idea?

I have yet to be brave enough to cut up my Kona card, either. It would help so much to do so. I supposed I should order another color card myself... Thanks for the link on the organizer box. You might have just enabled me. o_O 1/28/2017 07:21:44
That storage box is a great idea for all those pieces. I haven't cut my card because it's so easy to store, but some days it would be easier to find a needed color if it was in pieces. Maybe someday I'll jump in and cut it!
