After a crazy spring and hectic summer, I'm finally back in my [new and improved] studio! (It's becoming a rite of passage that the longarm has to be moved at least once and at least up or down one flight of stairs in each house we live in.) So in an effort to clear out clutter and get back into my sewing routine, I've been pecking away at my mending pile and various UFOs the past few weeks. It's paid off: my husband and kids are all happy to see their missing pants/shirts/stuffed animals again, a favorite old blanket has it's binding back on it, and I can walk around without tripping anymore! I also finished up these little angel baby quilts to send to my old guild in Maine where they'll be donated to the local hospital. Not a stitch went into these that didn't have me counting my blessings that our own NICU experience had such a positive outcome, but I hope the soft colors and fabrics of these quilts provide a small piece of comfort for the families who wrap their children in them. This was a meaningful project for me to complete and send out into the world. What have you finished recently?

Such pretty colours. They are sure to be loved. I just dropped off a bunch of quilts to our local children's hospital yesterday. Hopefully they'll bring a smile and some comfort. 9/10/2016 09:07:54
It sounds like a great way to get back into quilting and sewing. Welcome back. :) Comments are closed.
