Confession time: I hate binding quilts. I know, I know, I've probably mentioned it before, and I'm not the only one out there who feels this way, but my case is extremely severe. See these lovely finished twin quilts? They were meant to be my daughters' birthday presents... two and a half years ago!!! Talk about belated birthday gifts, huh?! So what happened to finally move these from my UFO to Friday Finish pile? I found this Bijou Lovely tutorial that "cheats" the look of joined binding so I don't have to dread all the fiddling I always end up doing trying to get it just right at the end. [Yes, it is ridiculous that that's all it took to motivate me.] I can't tell you what a game changer this is for me, though. I'll probably never move binding to my "top ten favorite things to do" list, but at least I can stop loathing it! What's your least favorite part of the quilt making process?
Do you have a tip or trick that makes it more enjoyable? What beautiful finishes! I really like how coordinated they are. 9/30/2016 18:59:17
I can *totally* beat that record. Did you see my quilt, Finally, which I gave to my brother last month as a terribly related Christmas gift. From 2004. 😬

These are pretty for sure! I don't like cutting but my least fav part is basting :)

What great quilts, they came out beautiful. Form me, I love cutting new projects, and I don't enjoy basting projects. Spray baste is the only reason I can get things done around here. 10/2/2016 17:46:05
Gorgeous finishes! I'm sure the girls will love them for years (and forget how late they were!). Congratulations on finding a binding tutorial that helps you get that dreaded step finished. For me, I think basting would be my least favourite part, but at least I know that once the quilt is basted I can get on to the fun of quilting it :) 10/7/2016 21:20:39
Kudos on finding a binding technique that makes it easier for you. I don't like quilting....I prefer the piecing and don't mind the binding. Comments are closed.
