A few years ago I created a baby quilt for a client welcoming her first grandchild, and it was so treasured that she recently asked me to create a coordinating quilt for her soon-to-arrive second grandchild! This one just has a slightly different color scheme... It turned out beautifully. It'll be the perfect compliment to big brother's "Baby Blue," which is pictured below overlooking Portland Head Light at Fort Williams. If you like these quilts, I now have a pattern available for them! Click here to find the Starshine Baby Quilt pattern on Craftsy! Since I photographed "Baby Blue" at a local landmark when we lived in Maine, I decided to do the same for "Baby Blush" here in Kansas. The limestone monument dedicated to the soldiers who trained at Camp Funston during WWI is a perfect example of local history and geology, and nicely parallels the military presence at Fort Williams on the grounds surrounding Portland Head Light during the same period in time. Seventeen hundred miles apart, both served an important role in the same slice of US military history (even if only one has the ocean proximity I prefer ; )

The quilt turned out great, Sarah, and I really like that it is such a good match to the first one you made. I hope your client is really happy and that both quilts get a lot of love. :)

Adding that star to the center keeps the quilt from being so obviously 'baby' and is really attractive Sarah. Both quilts are so nice, and it's great that brother and sister each have their own special blankie. They are sure to be loved!

Both quilts are beautiful, and I love that you chose to photograph them near monuments that commemorate the same time period.

I love the way it came out and that it goes so nicely with the blues! I also love the pictures near important monuments. I'm always in such a hurry to get pictures of my quilts, I would never think to go anywhere but with all of the landmarks we have here, I really should. GREAT, one more thing to add to my crazy life :)
