I can't believe we only have one week left in February! I'm so not ready for spring to be right around the corner. Well, I'm a tad ready to leave the house in less than four layers, but not for the actual date on the calendar to read March. Way too many quilty things I want to get done before warm weather beckons me outside (though with yet another snowstorm on the way tonight, maybe I'm worrying needlessly ; )
I didn't get a lot of sewing in for me this week, but I did finish up the pillows that will accompany my "Infinite Gratitude" quilt. I had sewn all the HSTs right alongside the larger layer cake/charm square blocks, so I was left with two distinct palettes from the way they were pieced, and I separated them into a blue and a white pillow. The back of each is envelope closed with the main black and white math print that I used for the quilt back.
The sewing I did get done for me was the start of a paper pieced design from Juliet at The Tartan Kiwi. I saw a rainbow version of this done by @goodlaffgirl for an IG mini swap and it got me thinking about some of the new Alison Glass Sun Print Ink fabrics in my stash that would make the perfect "rain" background. Since I only had late night time to sew (thank you, school vacation + husband being out of town!), I was working very slowly this week. I didn't get much done on this block, and I did make a wrong cut (easily fixable - phew!), but I'm loving my colors so far. I'm hoping to finish it up later today. It's the first "me colors" project I've done in a while and it's made it so much more fun to work on!
How was week 3 for you? Feeling on track with your goals for the month? Link up below and share your progress! You'll be automatically entered into this week's participation prize drawing for a set of seven rainbow fat quarters! I'll announce the winner next Saturday when we have our final link up.
Last week's winner was Laurelar at Drowning in Fabric! Congrats!
(Though I feel a bit guilty sending more fabric with a blog title like that! ; )
