Hearing about this for the first time, and need more information about the challenge? Check out my original inspiration post for some background. Grab the button, find out about prize entries, and see the complete link up schedule right over here. And now, on to my 3030SC goals! I chose four small projects for the month, hoping to focus on one each week. I tried to cover my bases - a little quilting, a little clothing, a little something for my studio. (On a side note, can anyone recommend a great infinity scarf tutorial?)
Ok, your turn! I look forward to seeing what you're working on during the challenge. Edit: I've had a few people ask if you have to be a blogger to join in the 3030SC. You don't! But you do need a way to link up each week (Flickr is a great option.) Any site that you can grab a URL from to link a post/pic/caption of your goal/progress is fine : ) The more who get to "sew selfishly" this month, the better! 30/30 SEWING CHALLENGE DATES:

I've never done an infinity scarf, but there are plenty out there and the fabric looks beautiful. 3/1/2014 07:33:50
I found a bunch on Pinterest - I just want to make sure I make the most of the material and that I pick one that's easy and quick! Thanks for stopping by, Mara : ) 3/1/2014 04:22:46
Yeah! This is going to be sew much fun! And yet, sew scary all at the same time. Thanks for putting out the challenge, Sarah! 3/1/2014 07:32:24
I agree about the daunting part - when I looked at my calendar this month, finding thirty minutes each day is going to be tricky on a few of them. (Though I won't discourage anyone from making up a day or two here and there because I know life gets busy sometimes!) Thanks so much for joining me, Lorna : ) 3/1/2014 07:28:46
Yes, definitely! You can have one or thirty goals - whatever you want to work on for yourself with your thirty minutes each day : ) I went with four so I could do one a week and clear out a few small projects that have been sitting by the wayside, but you can focus on your top all month. If you have that scarf link, I'd love it! 3/1/2014 08:18:08
Lorna sent me an invite, this I have to do, I have so many skirts to make and that sewing machine cover is too cute...... 3/1/2014 08:31:07
Perfect! I see skirt patterns all over that I adore, but I'm a bit zipper-shy... I'd love to see what you make. (I just ordered a dress pattern, but it's a wrap/tie close, so I can avoid tackling zippers a little bit longer ; ) Hope to have you join us, Lori! 3/1/2014 08:50:59
Sarah, I so not like zippers either, when my boys would say " hey mom can yoy fix these pants, I would reply, verlco, snaps or buttons.... ....

Anna Marie Horner has a good tutorial on her blog on infinity scarves. Try taking a look there. 3/1/2014 12:06:07
Thanks for the tip, Cindy! If I'm going to use her fabric, might as well go see what her tutorial is all about : )

I'm going to try and join you via Flickr. I am doing the Star Light, Star Bright QAL, and it's for me. I also plan to make a sewing machine mat and cover? I also want to make myself a purse, and maybe a cute little spring banner to hang on my door. Who knows what I'll come up with, depending on how much time the quilt takes. 3/1/2014 12:09:19
Sounds like you have a bunch of great ideas for your "me" time this month - thanks for joining in! I've seen others join up with Flickr on other linkys - let me know if it doesn't work. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I think this is a fabulous idea and a great challenge. We all do a lot of a lot of things, but not much is "selfish". I am going to take advantage of this challenge to finish up some long neglected UFOs, as well as some new projects. For my first day, I managed to get in well over 2 hours of sewing and machine time. What a clever girl you are :) 3/1/2014 12:27:45
Go you! It's well after 2100 here and I am *just* sitting down at my machine for the first time today... I may be clever, but I'd trade it for about five extra hours in the day : P Glad to have you on board, Edith! 3/1/2014 11:23:43
This sounds like a fabulous idea! I'll have to help spread the word and I really should join you myself. Thanks for the motivation!

When you are ready to try zippers I recommend using Dritz Wash Away Wonder Tape (1/4") to hold the zipper in place for sewing. Best thing ever! So much easier than basting. 3/1/2014 23:08:06
Hmm... then maybe I should buy some now and squirrel it away in case they don't make it anymore fifty years from now? heehee I will make a note of your tip, Lisa Marie - I know I need to just get on with it! I did one last year in an a-line skirt class I took, but the teacher was right over my shoulder. I need to take a class that's just two hours straight of zippers so it finally clicks! 3/1/2014 22:58:29
Good to know, Tina! I will use it when I make mine - I just watched the minky scarf tutorial that Malini posted above and I was thinking the same thing - a walking foot would've worked so much more easily on that, too. 3/2/2014 04:53:04
Sounds like you have plenty to work on, Jean! Hopefully some of the quilts are for you so you can enjoy some "selfish sewing" this month with us : ) Would love to have you on board for the challenge! 3/2/2014 13:44:03
Quick question….for instagram is the hashtag #3030SC? 3/2/2014 21:33:52
Sure! I'm not on Instagram, but that's the hashtag I used on Flickr, so go for it! Thanks, Michellle : )
